Ozzy Osbourne death updates: Heartbroken Black Sabbath bandmate pays emotional tribute

Ozzy Osbourne has died aged 76 surrounded by his family. His wife Sharon confirmed the news, along with their children, in an emotional statement, which read: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

"He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."

Osbourne announced he was ill with Parkinson's disease in 2020 before deciding to take a break from touring in 2023 following extensive spinal surgery.

He returned to the stage at Villa Park in Birmingham with his Black Sabbath bandmates for what was his final ever performance.

Osbourne and original Black Sabbath members, Tony Iommi, Terence "Geezer" Butler and Bill Ward, were the last to appear on stage for the Back To The Beginning concert as they said goodbye to fans with their greatest hits.

His son Jack shared a lengthy tribute to his dad shortly before his death, speaking at a screening to honour his dad. He said: "What are my three words to describe my dad? I would say funny, unique and powerful. "He is an incredible man. He really is. His contribution to music is bigger than his faults. This whole weekend has been emotional."
