While people would assume our showers are a fairly clean part of our homes already as it's the place we clean ourselves, for many it can feel impossible to keep them as sparkling as we'd like them to be.
One of the biggest problem that many face is keeping limescale away from shower screens and the shower head. Limescale is a chalky deposit of calcium and magnesium that forms on surfaces where hard water evaporates or is heated, such as kettles, taps and showers, and heating system pipes.
It's often a common problem in homes with hard water and can reduce the efficiency of appliances. But while removing it can be an easy yet tedious problem, one cleaner claims to have found a solution that will keep limescale away from your shower for weeks at a time.
The cleaner, named Charlotte, went on to share proof it's worked wonders for one of her clients with a photo of crystal clear shower glass after two weeks of them taking her advice.
"I think this is all the proof you need," she captioned a TikTok post with a photo of the clean shower screen.
On the first photo of the post, Charlotte showed a photo of a squeegee being stuck to the tiled wall with a suction cup. She wrote: "When your client takes your advice and gets a squeegee for their shower..."
In the next photo, she went on to write: "And their shower screen looks like this two weeks after you last cleaned it," along with a heart eyes emoji.
In the photo, she showed the still sparking glass shower screen that had no signs of any limescale or other grime. So what is it that makes a squeegee the perfect tool to combat limescale?
The reason squeegeeing off excess water and soap residue helps keep shower glass clean is because there is nothing left on the screen to create buildup or stains.
Cloudy glass isn't the only thing the squeegee tip helps with, it also reduces the chance for mould growth on and around the glass by removing excess moisture. The squeegee is also good to use on shower wall tiles to help prevent mould and discolouration on grout.
Viewer quickly filled up the comments section, with many sharing their own successful experiences of using a squeegee.
"It's amazing the difference... I've trained my house to use a squeegee and the screen looks great all the time. Such a simple thing makes a difference," one person wrote.
"Amazing I tell my clients this and they say they don't have time makes such a difference great advice," someone else said.
"It's seriously a game-changer! When I was heavily pregnant I often just left it and oh my days that grime built up instantly!" another viewer commented.
Another cleaner wrote: "Amazing. I tell my clients this and they say they don't have time, makes such a difference. great advice! Xxx."
