Odisha: BJP Names Dharmendra Pradhan Poll In-Charge For Bihar; Baijayant Panda For Tamil Nadu

Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced major organisational appointments ahead of crucial state elections, naming Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Vice President Baijayant Panda as election in-charges for Bihar and Tamil Nadu, respectively.

Bihar is expected to go to polls in November this year, while elections in Tamil Nadu are likely be held in March-April next year.

Notably, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has handled the party’s responsibility in Haryana for the 2024 and Uttar Pradesh elections, besides overseeing polls previously in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Karnataka.

Similarly, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda, BJP national vice president, was the poll in-charge of the BJP in the last Assembly elections in Delhi.

He has now been tasked with overseeing the party’s campaign in Tamil Nadu, where it remains a junior ally to the AIADMK.

The party also named Gujarat BJP chief C R Paatil and UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya as co-incharges for Bihar. Former Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb and Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol will serve as co-incharges for West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, respectively.
