Abbey Clancy baffled as Peter Crouch sneaks off in early hours after 'finding new love'

Abbey Clancy found herself wondering where her husband Peter Crouch had disappeared to, as he started sneaking off in the early hours to pursue his "new love". The model revealed that during a recent getaway, she would awaken to find Peter had completely "vanished".

Abbey subsequently uncovered that the ex-Premier League striker had embraced a fresh pastime. She revealed that Peter, 44, had signed himself up for tennis coaching after accompanying their 14 year old daughter Sophia to her sporting sessions.

Peter, who has also recently begun playing padel, admitted that he has now "caught the bug" having participated in the sport during his younger years. This disclosure emerges just weeks after Abbey, 39, Peter and Sophia were spotted relishing a day out at Wimbledon.

During the pair's The Therapy Crouch podcast, Abbey remarked: "Pete's found a new love. So everyday on holiday, I'd wake up, Pete nowhere to be seen. I'd be like, 'Where the f**k has he been going?'".

"He'd been booking himself tennis lessons. Tennis lessons, taking Sophia, who is doing the lessons anyway with her coach and Pete's booked himself in. And he's also joined a tennis club here, at home, and he's in a tennis competition and a tennis team.", reports Wales Online.

Peter replied: "You know what's happened? I've got the bug massively. I was taking Sophia and said, 'Do you know what, I'm going to start taking lessons.' I got a lesson and then got the bug, and saw myself getting better."

Peter, who bagged 22 goals across his 42 England caps, said that he "could play" tennis during his youth but ultimately chose to pursue a professional football career.

He looked back fondly on his childhood summers, describing them as packed with "football, tennis, football, tennis". "I could play when I was a kid but I didn't pick up a racquet for 20 years.

"But my summers consisted of a ball and tennis racquet and when we got slightly tired of football we'd go and play tennis. For six weeks, football, tennis, football, tennis, and by the end of that you get alright. So I was decent as a kid."

However, Abbey insists Peter was "playing down" his court skills and revealed he had to make a "crucial decision" between the two sports. Peter continued: "It was something that I never revisited so I'm trying to get back on the horse."

Throughout his distinguished career, Peter featured in over 700 professional fixtures for sides including Liverpool, Stoke City, Tottenham Hotspur, and Portsmouth before retiring in 2019.

Mother-of-four Abbey, who wed Peter in 2011, expressed her delight that he has discovered a fresh pastime. She concluded: "He's happy, he's keeping fit, he's keeping moving."

The pair initially met in a Liverpool bar back in 2005. Reflecting on their first meeting during an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Abbey revealed: "When we first met, he begged me for my number and then I went to the loo or the bar, and when I came back, he was talking to another girl. I was like, 'How dare you?'".

Peter argued he was merely "just talking" to the other woman, though Abbey demanded her number back. He shot back: "I said, 'You can't give someone your number and then take it back'."

Despite this rocky start, romance flourished between the duo and they wed on 30 June 2011. The pair now reside in a "magical" mansion featuring its own cinema room and expansive garden.
