Olympic bronze medalist wrestler Bajrang Punia and former wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Monday expressed condolences to the innocent people who lost their lives in the blast near the Red Fort Metro station. Nine people were killed and several others injured when a car exploded near Gate No. 1 of Delhi's Red Fort Metro station on Monday evening. The blast, which occurred at a busy traffic signal, created panic in the Old Delhi area.
The incident comes just hours after the Jammu and Kashmir Police busted an international terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind in Faridabad and recovered 2,900 kg of explosives and weapons.

Vinesh wrote on Instagram, "The explosion near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station is extremely sad and worrying. According to information received so far, many people have lost their lives, which is extremely tragic. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. I pray to God that the departed souls rest in peace and the injured receive the strength to recover quickly. Such incidents in the nation's capital are extremely unfortunate, and we must all unite and remain vigilant against such tragedies."
What did Bajrang Punia say?
Bajrang Punia wrote on Instagram, "I am saddened by the loss of innocent lives in the car bomb explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi today. This is a heartbreaking and devastating incident. In this hour of grief, I stand with the families of the victims and express my deepest condolences. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. I also appeal to the government to ensure an immediate, transparent, and impartial investigation into this incident."
Earlier, Team India coach Gautam Gambhir said, "I am saddened by the loss of life and property in the blast in Delhi. I pray for strength to the families of the deceased and speedy recovery of the injured."
