Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Three girls, including two minors, created ruckus at the Sanyogitaganj police station on Wednesday, screaming, abusing and misbehaving with officers for over half an hour.
Their anger was a sequel to two of their male acquaintances being hauled in for allegedly assaulting and abusing a local resident outside a girls’ hostel in an inebriated condition.
The incident took place around 11:30 pm in Parsi Mohalla when the two youths, Krishna and Kuldeep, reportedly in an inebriated state, attempted to approach the girls’ hostel and got into an altercation with locals. When the residents objected, the youths allegedly assaulted one of them, Amit Kanojia.
Abhinandan Sharma, a local resident, said, “Two drunk youths came to our colony and tried to head toward the girls’ hostel. When the residents confronted them, they attacked and abused Amit Kanojia. Soon afterwards, three girls came out of the hostel and claimed the youths were their cousins. The girls themselves appeared intoxicated.” Police who were called to the spot took the youths to the police station.
While the cops were taking the youths, the girls misbehaved with the officers, snatching vehicle keys and screaming. At the police station, they continued to create a ruckus.
The police registered an FIR against Krishna and Kuldeep for assault and abuse, while the girls were let off with a warning after their parents were informed. ACP (Sanyogitaganj) Tushar Singh said, “We received a complaint from residents about two drunk youths arguing with them. When police reached the spot, the youths claimed they came to meet their sister, but their story seemed suspicious.

The police then called female officers and informed the girls’ parents. The girls and the youths are students from other districts, currently studying in Indore.
