Ruben Amorim did not shy away from speculation linking Alejandro Garnacho with a departure from Manchester United this summer.
The 21-year-old winger wants to leave Old Trafford and it appears Amorim, who has had a frosty relationship with the Argentine since being appointed head coach in November of last year, has no problem with him departing. Amorim's latest comments on Garnacho could not be more telling for the winger and his future in Manchester.
"I think Garnacho, you can understand and you can see, he's talented, he's a really talented boy," Amorim explained. "And sometimes things don't work out. You cannot explain specifically what it is.

"But I have the feeling, I think it's clear that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership. And I can understand that. So I think it's not a problem.
"Sometimes you adapt to one guy, you have the connection. Other times, you want a new challenge. So, we try to make everything okay to all the parts. To the club, to the coach and to the players. So, it's a natural thing in football."
Amorim made no secret of the Argentine's desire to leave Old Trafford and the club's relaxed stance over him being moved on. That is where Chelsea come in.
The Blues considered making a move for the winger in the January transfer window, as reported on football.london, but decided against it in the end. Fast forward around seven months and Chelsea's interest in Garnacho has not gone away.
Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Garnacho and his situation in Manchester, with the west Londoners well aware of his desire to leave this summer. The Blues could potentially get Garnacho in somewhat of a cut-price deal given he wants to depart and United seemingly have no problem with what now seems an eventuality.
Enzo Maresca is looking to have two viable options in each position across the attacking line. On the left-hand side, Chelsea have Jamie Gittens and Tyrique George to choose from - in terms of natural options - but a loan move for the latter has been considered. Joao Pedro can also be used on the left, while prospective new signing Xavi Simons is similar in that regard.
Garnacho is an option for Chelsea with the Argentine someone who can compete with Gittens for a place on the left wing. Before making a move for Garnacho, though, Chelsea are still working on a deal to sign Simons, with talks continuing with RB Leipzig as the Blues look to add another versatile attacker to their ranks.
If a deal for Simons is wrapped up - and there remains an expectation it will be - then Chelsea will look to offload some more players. Armando Broja is on the verge of joining Premier League newcomers Burnley on a permanent basis, football.london understands.
Christopher Nkunku wants to move on from Stamford Bridge and the Blues will not stand in his way should they receive a suitable offer for the Frenchman. Marc Guiu is poised to join Sunderland on a season-long loan deal, while Chelsea consider sending George, as mentioned earlier in the article, elsewhere for the upcoming campaign.
